Assam has enough stock of petrol and diesel, consumers should rest assured: Chief Secretary Ravi Kota.
Pankaj Nath, Assam, March 26:
Assam Chief Secretary Ravi Kota tweeted on Wednesday that there is no shortage of petrol and diesel across the state. After review and verification of Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) and all the Petrol and Diesel outlets of Assam including Guwahati, it has become clear that adequate fuel stock is available at OMC depots and retail pumps to meet the normal daily requirements of the State. The Chief Secretary informed that Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has provided relief in payment conditions for retailers. Now sellers will be able to make payments within three days of purchase, whereas earlier it was a same-day mandatory. This will not cause any disruption in the fuel distribution chain. Kota has appealed to consumers to be confident and continue to buy fuel from retail outlets as per their normal requirement. He has called for not paying heed to rumours and leading a normal life. The state government is continuously monitoring the fuel supply.
