The political atmosphere in Assam’s Kamalpur assembly constituency has heated up in the context of the 2026 assembly elections. Kamalpur BJP ticket aspirant, young social worker and senior Kamalpur BJP leader Ankur Das has made a big blast in front of the media regarding various corruption taking place in Kamalpur. Ankur Das has expressed deep displeasure over various corruption going on in Kamalpur during the tenure of sitting MLA Diganta Kalita. He has expressed dissatisfaction over the rampant corruption and irregularities in various government schemes like CMAA, Arunoday Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana etc.  Ankur Das said that if the BJP gives him a party ticket from Kamalpur this time, strict steps will be taken to root out the corruption going on in Kamalpur. He also said that nowadays some people who join the BJP have started calling themselves big leaders of the BJP, but they have been associated with the ideals of the BJP for a long time. Ankur Das said that he has plans to do many important works in the field of development of Kamalpur assembly constituency and he hoped that all the people of the assembly constituency will cooperate with him in the coming time. Ankur Das made it clear that even if the BJP does not give him a ticket for any reason, he will contest the elections this time and his name will definitely be on the EVM. He also said that the BJP party will decide which symbol will be put in front of his name. He stressed that he was closely associated with the BJP in the past, is still with the BJP today and will continue to work for the welfare of the society in the future by carrying the ideals of the BJP on his forehead.  With this statement of BJP ticket candidate from Kamalpur, Ankur Das, there has been a lot of discussion in the politics of Kamalpur assembly constituency.
